My Time On The Project:
4 years
Role:
Technical Designer, Feature Owner
I joined the Battlefield 6 team as production was ramping up. My team worked on the Battle Royale mode in RedSec, the free to play component of Battlefield 6 which released with Season 1 on the game’s liver service.
I worked on the looting system doing gameplay scripting and focusing on the air dropped loot items. I owned the system for finding good landing zones for air drops. I created the initial scripting solution and updated it based on playtest and leadership feedback. I also owned the system for randomizing the custom weapon drop locations in each match.
During live service I was the feature owner for the Spray Paint system that was added in Season 3. I also covered the needed gameplay scripting. I communicated and coordinated with other disciplines to get the system ready for release. I worked with production, 2D art, animation, VFX, audio, and product to align on the vision for the system and get it implemented into the game.
For Season 4 I worked on the Carrier Strike mode, implementing the missile batteries that fire on the enemy carrier. I worked with the mode designer to create a design that we presented to leadership. Once it was approved I implemented that design and then iterated based on playtest feedback.
