Dragon Shard is a turn based tactics game inspired by games like Crimson Fields and the Battle for Wesnoth. Players move their units around a hex grid to gain terrain advantage and attack and defeat their enemies.

Dragon Shard has a three mission single player campaign as well as a level editor for players to create, save, and share their own levels.

I was the lead on this project. It was completed with HomeTeam GameDev.

Dragon Shard was made in Unity using C#. Version control was managed with Github. The team communicated using Slack and Trello.

I led this project. I worked with a team of several other developers, communicating online with Slack and Trello over a ten week development period.

I designed and implemented core gameplay including movement, combat, terrain defensive advantage, and additional unit abilities in the form of magic spells.

I designed and implemented enemy AI to play the game against the human player in the single player missions. The AI is able to move, attack, prioritize low health enemies, and prioritize putting its units in good defensive positions.

I designed and implemented UI for the level editor and for the main gameplay.

I also created the map editor where players can make their own maps, place units, and save their maps to play later or share.

I also created a custom Unity tool for creating and editing maps in the Unity editor
